Story

Yes, it's sponsorship time again!  I decided I wanted a weekend away before I started back at university again and thought I could combine a little time off with raising money for a VERY good cause and tick off something from my lifetime 'to do' list and climb the highest mountain in Scotland.  And before all of you that know anything about hill-walking ask, yes we'll be taking the 'tourist route' but you've got to start somewhere right?!

As you can see my minimum target for the challenge is £325 but when I did my 10K last year you all gave very generously and helped me raise over £450 in total so fingers crossed the minimum will be reached easily.

You can find more information about the Cystic Fibrosis Trust at www.cftrust.org.uk and as most of you know this is a charity/cause very close to my heart so please please please give generously.  Thank you very much in advance and wish me luck with my 4406 feet of climbing (that's four hours up!) and hopefully, no blisters.

24th September Update

Ouch!  Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch!  Well, I did it and as hoped I have no blisters!  I can however name all of the muscles that are aching furiously so my uni tutors   would be happy that I know so many!  I had a fantastic weekend with an amazing group of people who all have very touching stories about Cystic Fibrosis which emphasised how good a cause this is.

As for the walk itself, it went well although I was far from setting any time records!    We were informed on the way up that only 1% of the population have ever climbed   the Ben so I feel quite proud to be part of that elite group!  The team/guides that took us up were amazing (thanks Brian - may not have made it without your help!) and we had a perfect day weather wise so some of us got tremendous views from the top.      It was a reminder that (I think) I am from one of the most beautiful countries in the world and it was worth the climb just for the scenery.  Not worth it enough ever to do    it again though and I'm sorry Rich but I think K2 is well outwith my capabilities!   Thank you Sal and Rich for cat sitting for me.  Thank you very much for all the sponsorship everyone...although I do think, given how much harder that was than I thought it would be you should all double your sponsorship! ;-)  Thank you very    much again!
