The maRAFon 2014 was held over the Easter Weekend 2014. On Sat 19th the staff and respite care residents at Princess Marina House, Rustington, organised an event which raised over £1,000 for the event, and a bunch of TOGs, Hellen Bach, Bids, Malcolm, Gissa Bunkup, Edina Cloud, Lucy Quipment, Dave "coffee chucker" Hayward and his grandkids  and myself walked round Green Park in the rain on Sunday 20th April, starting around the Bomber Command Memorial.

For me, I did this because I served in the RAF for over 24 years man and boy, and like to keep in touch with some of the people I joined up with or have met along the way. I previously helped the RAF Benevolent Fund, along with some great helpers, doing a bucket collection in 2012 at Cardiff Airport. I have also recently seen the work of the RAF Benevolent Fund at Princess Marina House where they offer short recuperative breaks to serving or ex-Service members of the RAF family, their partners and adult dependents. I have also seen the dedication and hard work of the full time fundraising team at the charity and am delighted to carry on the relationship with the charity.
