Story
On Saturday May 1st (date subject to change) a group of intrepid adventurers will set off on an epic journey via the means of bicycle. Crossing tarns and brooks, climbing the highest mountains and plunging through the deepest valleys, these chaps will be endeavouring to cycle 100 of your metric miles from Windermere to Newcastle in aid of Northwest Air Ambulance. Amongst them will be Charles Scott, Paul Baillie and Eamonn Hennessy of Macbeth Scott & Co Insurance brokers.
Established in 1999 the North West Air Ambulance has been flying life saving missions throughout the North West region from its operational base at Blackpool Airport for the past nine years.
Flying seven days a week, 365 days a year their vital life saving service covers 5,500 square miles and a residential population of seven million people yet they receive no central government or lottery funding. It costs £3.5 million per year to maintain both aircraft, all of which is generously donated by members of the public.
So, please sponsor these chaps and provide them with encouragement, or maybe even join in if you feel like it.
Your contribution can make a real difference to people's lives.
