In memory of Tina Trafford

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Over 30 years ago, I shared a flat with my dear friend Tina Trafford and am very proud to have introduced her to her husband, Richard. In July 2016, despite being very fit and healthy,  Tina suffered a devastating stroke and after fighting for her life for 2 weeks, tragically died aged just 53. Richard and their two lovely daughters, Lucy & Katie, have organized a sponsored cycle ride from London to Paris in memory of their beloved wife and mother to raise funds for The Stroke Association.

So at the end of May, in loving memory of Tina, three macLachlans - Jane, James and Ed (with a combined aged of 142) will take three days, huffing and puffing their way on two wheels from London to Paris fully equipped with gel pants, lycra  and loads of enthusiasm. We would be so grateful if you felt able to support us by donating to the Stroke Association, which works with stroke survivors to ensure their best possible recovery and to fund research into new treatments and ways to prevent strokes. Sadly, Tina's death shows that strokes can still happen to anyone at any age, no matter how fit or healthy they are.
