Story

1 Nov 2008

I successfully climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro between 19 and 26 August 2008. I once again thank all those who have donated. I continue to appeal for more donations to help fund the good work that is being done at Village Education Project Kilimanjaro (VEPK) at Mshiri, Marangu, Tanzania.

You can read about details of the climb at http://madarakanyerere.blogspot.com/

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I would like to inform supporters of this fundraising effort that I have had to postpone the climb until  August 19th 2008 after  Mr. Huynh Duong Le, with whom I will be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro and who is currently climbing Mt. Kenya, asked me to move the climb dates to August so that he may have an adequate rest period before tackling Kilimanjaro.

I plan to ask Mr. Le to reach down into his pocket and make a huge contribution to my fundraising event. My friend, Jose' Ojeda, who was to join me in the climb has had a minor ankle injury and has taken time off to recuperate.

I continue to appeal for more donations. Thanks to Vicki Boman for the latest donation.

Thanks to everyone for supporting the Mwalimu Nyerere Charity Climb 2008.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Village Education Project Kilimanjaro gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
