We raise money to help treat & beat heart and lung disease

Story

Update.

We all successfully completed the bike ride and most were very exhausted at the end. Everyone had a great day and I would like to thank my wondeful wife and her work colleagues for helping me to raise such a considerable sum.

A very big  THANK YOU to everyone who has donated to this cause and we will be forever in your debt.

David

Our friends and colleagues are entering the London to Brighton bike ride to raise funds for the Royal Brompton & Harefield Charitable Trust in memory of my daughter Madelaine Nicholls.

Maddie suffered from a speight of lung infections over the last 2 years of her life and consequently spent many weeks in various hospitals. She was eventually diagnosed with a brain stem tumour and this affected her ability to eat and drink and resulted in the continous chest infections. She tragically went into a coma for 5 days and then passed away on the 5th July 2007 after a very brave battle.

She then gave the ultimate gift of life by donating her organs and this resulted in her saving 4 lives.

Her favourite hospital during her illness was the children's ward at the Royal Brompton. Maddie made many close friends there and kept in touch with the other children outside of her hospital stays. She was also very popular with the nursing staff and Doctors.

We are therefore raising funds to provide a parents/patients room to be named after Maddie and additional equipment such as TV's and games consoles for other unfortunate children.

Please give whatever you can and thank you.
