My story

 
After successfully giving up smoking in April I've decided to take on a new challenge and run the HSBC Cardiff 10k on September 6 with my husband Mal.

This will be the first time I have run any distance for at least seven years (I ran - mostly walked - a 5k event in Nottingham many years years ago) and Mal's first long-distance run.

All the money we raise will go to Kidney Wales Foundation to help support people (especially children) with kidney disease and kidney failure - it is a charity that I have come to admire and have worked closely with in my job as Health Editor at Media Wales.
