DM Thomas Foundation for Young People (formerly Hilton in the Community Foundation) is a grant-making organisation that supports the education and health of vulnerable and disadvantaged young people. By funding equipment, training, and refurbishment, the Foundation is transforming young lives.

Story

Yes it's time for Marathon # 4 - but for a real challenge this time I'm hoping to conquer the highest peak of my homeland - Snowdon!

OK so to clarify from the outset - the course runs around the mountain rather than up and down it - but it still promises to be difficult: 26.2 miles of undulating foothills, October weather, dodging sheep poo and the echo of lonely footfalls in a beautiful but virtually specator-less landscape.

My wife persuades me that people will be sufficiently awed to support my efforts with a charitable donation.  I hesitate to ask - but any such support will be gratefully received; it will help me around the tougher parts knowing it's for somebody else.   Hilton in the Community Foundation supports lots of different children's charities including Afasic, ChildLine, NSPCC, Barnardo's, Outward Bound, Disability Challengers to name but a few.  Hilton pays for the Foundation's core costs so every net £1 goes directly to young people in need.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Hilton In The Community Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
