Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am aiming to raise £3000 for The British Horse Society's Welfare Department. To do this I will be joining other riders in raising funds for a sponsored trek in India in September 2010. We will be enduring a challenging 150 mile ride on native Indian Mawari horses. This is not a holiday! Last year BHS Challenge Rides raised over £36,000, providing the main source of income for the department.
The BHS Welfare Department responds to more than 20,000 enquiries a year, offering expert advice to members and non-members alike. They aim to educate keepers/owners of equines to help prevent cruelty and neglect as well as dealing with current cases. They also own 50 rescued horses and ponies which are rehomed across the UK and are visited and monitored throughout the year. They have many more important roles relating to equine welfare, to find out more about them visit welfare@bhs.org.uk
I will be doing many fund raising events leading up to the trek, not the least of which will be taking part in the Stanwick 10k run on Easter Monday, 5th April 2010! Any and all donations will be very gratefully received and I hope will help to spur me on during this gruelling road race! Please feel free to come and watch, it'll be worth a laugh!
