We train amazing hearing dogs to transform the lives of deaf people

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for my half marathon. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

A hearing dog changes a deaf person’s life on many levels. Deafness can be a very isolating and lonely disability; a hearing dog can offer a practical alternative to technical equipment – particularly for those deaf people who find such equipment restricting – with the added benefit of giving the recipient increased independence, greater confidence, companionship and a feeling of security.

The dogs themselves vary from the largest, scruffiest mongrel to the smallest pedigree and around seventy per cent of hearing dogs are selected from rescue centres, offering safe and loving homes to otherwise unwanted dogs.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Hearing Dogs For Deaf People will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.

About the charity

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds such as the smoke alarm, alarm clock, intruder alarms and baby monitors. These amazing dogs also help deaf people to leave loneliness behind by providing love, companionship and emotional support.
