Story
To help Magenta reach their target of £20,000 for Cancer Research UK, a group of 16 brave lads got together and decided that they want to do something challenging and inspirational that would help make a difference. They've all decided to group together and take on the ultimate, three day long UK cycling challenge, that is the Coast to Coast.
The Coast to Coast route is a staggering 140 miles long and stretches from Whitehaven all the way across the country to Tynemouth. The group is made up of 16 cyclists, of all different abilities, aging from 21 to 50 years old, and 1 back up driver who'll be following the group with any extra provisions, just in case.
The team inclues; Gary Walker, Steve Harvey, Garry Hoyle, Dave Daglish, Paul Flemming, Derek Smith, Dave Metcalfe, Dave Wall, Stu Clark, James Burns, Steve Briton, Liam Daglish, Stu Rae, Mark Jones, Ritchie Phillips, Rob Redpath and Robert Redpath.
The challenge will start on Friday 2nd Aug, when the group will set off at 8 o'clock from Magenta and travel by van from Cullercoats over to Whitehaven. They'll set off from the Whitehaven coast line and cycle up and down hill for three days stopping off at various hostles on the way.
By Sunday 4th Aug, the gang will reach the finishing point in Tynemouth, however they won't be stopping there as they'll keep going for a few more miles up the coast to Magenta salon where there will be a host of various massage and physio therapists ready to treat anyone with aches and pains. There'll also be music, food and a few drinks for the lads to say thanks and well done.
All the money raised will be going to a good cause, with 90% going to Cancer Research UK and 10% going to Capita's chosen charity (who have helped organise the event). So please dig deep and donate now.
Thanks for taking your time to visit the page,
From the 17 group members and everyone at Magenta
