Story
Hi dear friends and supporters
We did it!
Wild wet weather made for an exciting challenge – Robbie, our ace guide,
said it would be too dangerous to try the 120ft of Gordale Scar, so we did 60ft
twice each instead, at the edge of Malham Cove. We both thought it was brilliant. Colleen, who went paragliding when she was 15 and enjoyed
spine-tingling fairground rides, would have loved it too.
Sal says: ‘The
weather didn’t spoil anything – it made it better because you got hot walking
all the way up, and then the lovely cold rain and wind on your face cooled you
down’.
Maggie says:
‘By the end of the second descent I was In the Zone and really getting
the hang of it. You don’t have to
put much weight through your feet, just use them for balance.’
A great big thank you from both of us to everybody – to all of you who gave encouragement, support and generous donations; to Robbie who
was right when he said it would only take 10 mins for him to get us over the
edge; and to our wonderful
spectators: Sal's friend Steph who got soaked
to the skin, Flora (7) and Bella (5) who climbed all those steps, and Nina and Dave, who between them carried Elijah all the way up and took the photos.

With love
Sal and Maggie
