 The hills are alive ..............................

Last year, my son Andrew and I walked from Lake Geneva to Chamonix on the GR5. I was sponsored for over £2,000 for Marie Curie and I am really grateful to all who donated. This year, Andrew and I set off on the next part of the GR5 - we plan to walk from Chamonix to Modane (the Vanoise National Park) in 8 days - a total of around 225kms and a total ascent of over 23,000 feet (nae bother!?!) Just like last year, we will be carrying all our wordly goods on our backs and staying in small hotels and refuges. We both thoroughly enjoyed last year's trip and are looking forward to this year's challenge. The picture shows me in Chamonix the morning after we arrived there last year - Chamonix will be our starting point this year, on July 8th.
