Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

We have now achieved the workshop on 24th Feb without any major injuries and would like to thank all of you who sponsored and supported the event.

Above listed made 21,126 cuts in total by doing 1006 kirikaeshi and this means a lot to us as well as the amount of collected donation means to the Maggie's centres, which now exceeded our target, adding the cash collected outside this site. The money came through to this site had been sent to the Maggie's centre already.

We hope to come back to challenge ourselves and to support Maggie's centre with perhaps more difficult tasks. In the meantime, this site will continue to accept donations until 24th April. So if you have not sponsored us and would like to do so please click 'sponsor us now' and follow the intruction.

With kindest regards,

the organiser

The participating members are female Kendo players and are all the members of the British Kendo Association (BKA). Kendo is a Japanese martial art, which has developed through its history into its ultimate form in not for fighting the enemies but for 'living in harmony', through the study of the sword. We are a group of beginners, experienced and just under 10 years old, coming from all over the country including some local Scottish women.

Our workshop programme is '1000 Kiri-kaeshi' and everyone works on this amazingly loud relay of striking the opponent's helmets, right and left again and again with its elegant form, which requires a great deal of discipline – expected to last for about 4 hours.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Maggie's Centres will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
