Hello Friends,
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page! I am training for the inaugural Brighton Marathon on April 18th 2010 to raise money for International Alert, the charity for which my mother has worked for several years.
Yup, just over 26 miles… I must be crazy.
International Alert is an independent peacebuilding organisation that works to lay the foundations for lasting peace and security in communities affected by violent conflict. Cool, huh?!
Your donation will go towards helping thousands of people in 20 countries across the world rebuild lives destroyed by fighting in the following ways:
• Bring together people from different ethnic, political and social groups to work together to build peace in their communities
• Support women who often suffer from sexual violence and are more likely to be widowed as a result of war: helping them to actively engage in peacebuilding, whether it’s reconciliation within communities or lobbying for soldiers to lay down their weapons
• Bring local voices to be heard by international decision-makers so that policies respond to the actual needs and concerns of those who live daily with the consequences of violent conflict
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
