The charity still decides what to purchase based on the advice of the doctors and nurses at the hospital who are up-to-date on the latest advances in medical and surgical equipment and understand the needs of the patients and their families.

The Chelsea Children's Hospital was opened in May 2014 by Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall.
