Story
Thank you for visiting this page.
The villagers of Mahahual and the communities of Yucatan have been devastated by Hurricane Dean and unlike rich or insured hotel owners affected by hurricanes in previous years, are unable to re-build their livelihoods without our help.
Mahahual is a shell of the town I so fondly remember. The villagers have been left with nothing. They are without such basics for life as shelter, food, water, sanitation, clothes, cooking utensils and much more. Many of them have lost everything including their way of life, with the tourism trade devastated and the reefs and fishing hugely affected.
With your help, we can get this and surrounding communities back on their feet and help some of our local partners to work through this disaster.
If everyone gives £10 or £20 or whatever you can afford, we should easily be able to reach our target.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. If you are ataxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you, but invaluably helping the Global Vision International Charitable Trust to run.
Many thanks for your support. As soon as we have more news, we will be updating the GVI Charitable Trust web site on www.gvi.org.uk
