Christie's Manchester 100 Bike Ride · 6 September 2009 ·

The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Your support can help us to fund life-changing and potentially life-saving projects that will benefit cancer patients both now and in the future.

Story

Nineteen of us from my office rode the Manchester 100 at the start of September, in support of Christie's Hospital. About half rode the whole 100 miles, while the other half (myself included) wimped out and "just" did 100 kilometres. Surprisingly, I didn't die. In fact, I managed to make it round in 5hr13min, abot an hour quicker than I expected!

So, I'll be doing the 100 mile version next year. I might get a better bike though. But I still draw the line at lycra. There's no need for that.

Thanks so much to everyone who's sponsored me so far – I never dreamt of raising so much cash. To those who haven't, but for some bizarre reason have found their way on to this page, well, you may as well donate something now that you're here!

The main Thermo Flyers sponsorship page shows the up-to-date total for our group, and our company will be matching most of what we've made (hopefully about £4,000).

Donating here is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, your money goes directly to the charity and tax will be reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now. Thanks!
