Story
I really want to raise money for the British Lung Foundation by running the London marathon. Let me tell you why...
I work with Rachel whose has a nephew, Sam. Sam is now 3 years old and suffers from a condition called CCHS (Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome). He is one of only 300 children in the world who suffer from this condition which in basic terms means he forgets to breathe for himself. He has to have 24/7 care and supervision to make sure he is okay. Despite all of this, Sam leads as normal a life as he possibly can do and is full of energy!
I love to hear from Rachel all about Sam and what a happy lively little boy he is, despite all the challenges he and his family face every day. He has inspired me to run this marathon and makes me realise how lucky I am to have had 3 healthy children of my own.
Here are a couple of articles written about Sam that explain his condition and what he goes through in more detail:
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Lung Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thank you all for reading this and any donation you can make to support the British Lung Foundation would be very much appreciated by Sam, his family and myself!
