Sense is here to support disabled people from the first weeks of life through all the major milestones of adulthood. Over 70 years, we’ve built extensive knowledge and expertise in supporting disabled people with complex needs, including deafblind people.

Story

This will be my first sponsored running event. But it's a run with a difference. The 5km race is unique in that  runners can choose to undertake some or all of the run  blindfolded while being led by a non-blindfolded partner. So I hope to run at least some of the route without vision.

It takes place on 14th September in Victoria Park, London and is to benefit Sense - hence the blindfolded element to the run.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Sense - National Deafblind and Rubella Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

PS I'm also doing a half-marathon to benefit the Bone Cancer Research Trust in October - in memory of my son Martin - if you prefer to sponsor me on that. Martin died last year at the age of 17 after a year of treatment for bone cancer. See http://www.justgiving.com/malcmatthews
