Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

The Bristol Urological Institute aims to improve the treatment and care of people with urological disorders, to support and develop research with particular emphasis on cancers of the urinary tract and the problem of incontinence and to provide a high standard of training for nurses, medical students, doctors and surgeons.

Story

Hi! and thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.  I hope you'll take the opportunity to sponsor me as I run my first ever (and probably last ever!!) marathon.

Having always said I would never become a runner, I have simply got "caught up" in the atmosphere of the event when supporting Karen in 2006 and 2008 and decided that "I want some of that" , and I'm actually beginning to enjoy it!

As I have taken the plunge and entered this year's London Marathon I hope my family, friends, colleagues and anyone else who knows me will sponsor me as I raise funds for the Bristol Urological Institute which aims to improve the urological treatment and care of patients in Bristol and the South West whilst at the same time supporting and developing research into urological cancers (of the prostate, bladder, kidney and testes), disease which affect so many of our families.

More information about their work can be found at www.bui.ac.uk

All the money I raise will go to this deserving cause and knowing that you have sponsored me will help me through those 26 painful miles and make sure that I don't let you down!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Bristol Urological Institute gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

Thanks for all your support,

Malcolm
