Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the London to Barcelona Cycle Challenge 2007!
The challenge involves cycling 844 miles over 11 days, starting 22 Aug. We'll be cycling from London to Portsmouth, crossing the Channel via ferry to France, cycling all the way from northern to southern France, through the Pyrenees (*panic mode on*), and finally into Barcelona.
As most of you know, I am not an active philanthropist, and I'm definitely not an outdoors-y athletic type of person. In fact, I'm often quite cynical about charities. However, I do believe in SPARKS and their mission statement: to help all children to be born healthy and stay healthy.
I haven't owned a bike since I was 10 years old, but I just spent quite a bit of money buying one (a Trek 1200). For the first time in my life, I'm going to the gym and exercising regularly. Yesterday I cycled 54 miles (87 km) around Richmond Park, and can barely walk now as a result. But hey... it's for a good cause.
Everyone has told me I'm nuts for doing this. I agree. So please sponsor my well-intentioned insanity now... you choose the amount, every little bit counts!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: SPARKS will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
If you're a Deutsche Bank employee, your donation will be twice as effective, since Deutsche Bank will match your donation!
Many thanks for your support.
