St Margaret's Hospice provides free hospice care to those living in and around Somerset. The Charity seeks to improve the quality of life for those suffering with an incurable illness and provide a support system for their carers and families. St Margaret's is mostly funded by public donations.
I have been lucky enough to have been accepted in the Flora London Marathon 2009. I will be raising as much money as I can for a charity that is close to me and my family; St. Margaret’s Hospice. St Margaret's Somerset Hospice is your local charity committed to providing specialist palliative care, advice, support and respite to patients and their families living in Somerset and parts of neighbouring counties. Their care is available for those who have a terminal or life-limiting illness, for example cancer, motor neurone disease and chronic lung disease.
Through their medical expertise, nursing skills and specialist support services, they offer physical, emotional, social and spiritual care to their patients and their families. Bereavement support is also available.
Their services are also available to patients where their specialist knowledge, skills and expertise will provide relief for their specific illness, such as symptom control, breathlessness management, lymphoedema treatment, physiotherapy and complementary therapies.
Every little counts in a huge way so please sponsor me as much or as little as you would like to help others who will benefit from the invaluable services of St. Margaret’s Hospice, it really is a great cause. My minimum target is to raise £1000, but of course the more the better!
