Story

This is the Support Team's fundraising page, accompanying 35 amateur cyclists from Hartley Wintney, Hampshire on a 300 mile trip back home from Malle, Belgium. We set off to Malle, twinned with HW, on Thursday 22nd August, and return on Monday 26th August.

We are a team of 12 volunteers, namely Michael, Hilary and Mal (advanced party - signposting), Allen and Rick (lorry), Penny, Helen and Joanna (the all-important food wagon), Bruce and Neil (the indispensable bike repair team), and picking up any pieces at the back, Alison and Sarah (first aid).

So, if you don't have a personal connection with an individual cyclist and would prefer to make a donation to the team as a whole, we would greatly value your support!

The trip has been organised by St John's Church, to help pay for its new Church Centre. However 10% of total raised by the team is being given to St Michael's Hospice, Basingstoke, and 10% is being given to The Matthew Elvidge Trust, a local charity raising mental health issues amongst young people across the UK.

If you would prefer to make a paper donation, cheques can be made payable to St John's HW PCC. Further information can be found at the official bike ride website: http://www.hwbikeride.org.uk/

Thank you for your support!

About the charity

St John's Church is the parish church in the Hampshire village of Hartley Wintney. In April 2012, the church commenced the building of a new £2.3m Church Centre, which, when completed in June 2013, will provide new facilities for our church and wider community. Please help us to raise the final 20%.
