My story

 

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

On Sunday the 26th of April I will be taking part in the London Marathon.

I have had Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) since childhood. Promoting awareness and raising funds for the charity OCD-UK is very important to me. OCD can be very debilitating and known as the secret illness it can go undiagnosed for many years.

'OCD is a serious anxiety-related condition that affects as many as 3 in one hundred people'.


'OCD can take many forms, but in general, sufferers experience repetitive, intrusive and unwelcome thoughts which they find hard to dismiss. These obsessions usually cause them to perform repetitive compulsions in a vain attempt to relieve themselves of obsessions and neutralise fear. Some sufferers, however, have obsessions but no compulsions-a form of OCD often called 'Pure O'
