SCOTLAND COAST TO COAST · 5 October 2006

We help the babies, children and young people treated at Scotland's largest children's hospital, the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. We fund medical equipment, research, play programmes and family support services to ensure that our young patients receive the best possible care and experience.

Story

Our son Andrew has renal difficulties. Fortunately Andrew is doing really well but other children and their families aren't as lucky and need our help to make things easier for them. Yorkhill children's hospital provides excellent care for poorly chidren. We want to raise money to provide funds for the Renal Wards at Yorkhill. The money will be used for equipment and care of the children in these wards

WE DID IT!!  16 of us left Glencoe on saturday morning 4th nov, after an ordeal of a night  in our Bunkhouse, due to noises in the night.. a big snorer!! with virtually no sleep we made it to Weem near Abefeldy, 86 miles in a day via some  unplanned big  climbs. Saturday night went down with loads of food and not alot of  beer..not like us!! Sunday dawned to another cracking autumn day, and with a tail wind  mostly , and not alot of hills( a few sneaky ones) we made it to St Andrews by mid afternoon sunday to a great welcome by friends and family. Everyone did really well, with the   cyclists that did a wee Oban to Glencoe tour  on friday afternoon doing approx 194 miles over the weekend, and the weekend coast to coast crew   doing  about 140 miles at an average speed of 16 mph over the two days, great affort by everyone and hugely enjoyable aswell as a  good challenge achieved.

Thanks to everyone who sponsored all of us, we will let you know  where this money will go for at the renal unit at Yorkhill but it is very much needed.

Most of all thanks to all the mugs/participants for joining in and doing this challenge and helping raise all this money for a good cause. GREAT EFFORT EVERYONE, good achievement!!.
