The Mansfield Appeal

Sleeping rough is an isolating, dangerous way of life. People who have nowhere to call home are exposed to abuse, hunger and cold, and cut off from much needed support like healthcare. Today, you could help give people who often have nowhere else to turn a way out.

Framework provides specialist support which helps vulnerable people to move away from homelessness: from getting off the streets, to living in a new home, to learning new skills and securing employment. Right now, we cannot meet the need in Mansfield. A severe lack of options enabling residents to move on means that emergency accommodation at Framework’s Sherwood Street Centre in Mansfield has been full since its opening - many more vulnerable people are waiting to move in. Homelessness is coming to a street near you.

“We’ve got people coming to us in great need but there is very little we can do for them because we don’t have the space. We’ve got ten people who could move on tomorrow if the right support was available – but they can’t.” – Michelle Hanson, Sherwood Street Centre Manager.

To change this, Framework needs to raise £30,000 to support more residents of Sherwood Street to move on successfully, more quickly. In turn, this will enable us to reach more local people in desperate housing need - providing an opportunity which starts with a bed and ends with an independent future.

In February, more than 70 Framework supporters braved freezing temperatures to sleep outside St. Mark’s Church in Mansfield for one night, raising an incredible £15,000 in the process. This means that we are half way there and now we are asking for your support in changing the face of homelessness in Mansfield. Please give generously as every penny brings us closer to this goal.
