Story
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
Each one of us, due to our busy working lifestyle, tend to make quick donations through various channels. Unfortunately we do not stop to take notice of the changes that our donations bring about into lives of the needy. This project aims to take the first step towards changing this! Through this we want to create new possibilities in the lives of people and convert these possibilities into concrete results that we can all feel an emotional bond with.
As a first step to realise this dream, between 27th - 31st October 2008, a group of disabled children and their families in East London will be provided with a chance to take part in a unique project. Devised by the dynamic creative arts charity, Create, this project will encourage families to work together creatively, develop new skills and learn from one another. They will develop their creativity, social, communication and performance skills and grow in self-confidence and self-esteem. They will also have lots of fun!
During the two-phase project, the families will first work with one of Create’s professional artists to make and decorate instruments out of reclaimed materials such as carpet tubes, flip-flops and tin cans. Next, under the guidance of three of Create’s professional musicians, they will compose original music using their “junk orchestra” and other instruments.
Finally, they will perform their gig … and we would love you to be there. So please put the date in your diary – 7.30pm, 31st October 2008!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Create gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor this project now!
