Hi everyone!
As you all know I had been involved in a Community Development Project based in Uganda, however it has recently been cancelled due to unforseen circumstances. I would like to thank everyone who donated and let you know that your money is still going towards a similar cause...
...because I have enrolled in a new Community Development Project in Dehli, India. This project is focusing on the welfare of children in deprived areas and those with disabilities, and is based on inspiring children through creative workshops.
This project is 100% goahead, so this is definite! It is an amazing chance for the children to come out of their shells and to gain the confidence they very much need.
Here's the itinerary:
The group will be deliver a Creative arts & crafts, and music & movement programme over a two week period to a group of children from the impoverished slum area of the local community. The focus will be on having fun and learning at the same time. Activities will help to improve the children's creative thinking, spatial and personal awareness, concentration and communication. The programme will involve working with two groups of children: As a volunteer we will spend time working with the teachers delivering workshops 'Teaching the Teachers' in which you will have the opportunity to offer: Supported by The Great Generation staff and our Expert Partner, volunteers will also look at ways to support local people into livelihood oppportunities through microfinance.
As you can see all previous donations have been put towards this project now, so please please PLEASE keep them coming, you have all been so generous so far and I am so very grateful!
Thank you, lots of love, Manvir (Meenu)
