Story

Updated on Apr 22nd 2012 at 8:31 PM from the JustGiving API

So it's all over! I did manage to finish but it took a full 6 hours to do so! It's fair to say that I'm in a considerable amount of discomfort but am glad to have played my part in the biggest running event in the world whilst raising over £3000 for the great work done by CRUK. Thanks again to everyone who has donated, I'll leave the page open for a few weeks to let any others add to the total.

So the big day is almost here, I'm not as prepared as I'd have liked but am really looking forward to it! Thank you to everyone that has donated so far, it's really appreciated and is my motivation to finish the race. I'll update once the race is over and I'm able to gather my thoughts.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, it's greatly appreciated!

For those that know me well, you'll be all too aware that I'm not exactly a natural runner, this is by no means going to be an easy feat! I do however, have an amazing incentive to keep me going and without it I'm not afraid to admit that I wouldn't have the dedication to see this through to the end.

I began training in June this year and so far it's going well, I'll try and update her on my progress for those that are interested!

Myeloma, at present, is an incurable form of cancer and unfortunately a close family friend, Jackie Hayden was recently diagnosed with it. I hope by committing to running the London Marathon in 2012 I can raise awareness and (hopefully) a considerable amount of money to support the great work that Cancer Research UK do. All money raised will go directly towards the work CRUK are doing for Myeloma in particular.

I've included a link below for more details on CRUK and what they already know about the Myeloma.

Thanks again for taking the time to visit, this page will be open until May 2012 but the sooner we're up and running the better - it's an ambitious target! :)
