The Compassionate Friends offers support and friendship to parents and families after the death of a son or daughter, at any age and from any cause. It also offers support, advice and information to other relatives, friends and professional carers who are helping the family.

Story

My son Sam was born on a Marathon day in Guys Hospital, Tower Bridge, and all the runners could be seen from my delivery suite. He died from an accident just before his first bithday and TCF became a huge support for me, I eventually went on to become an area contact for TCF. The work I did with TCF ultimately led to me becoming a qualified counsellor. This year would have been Sams 21st Birthday and since I took up running a couple of years ago I felt that running the Marathon for Sam and for TCF seemed the most fitting tribute.
