Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

This is the page we have set up in order to raise money for Blood Cancer UK. Our target is trying to raise a significant amount of money towards finding a cure in memory of Alan's sister, Paula.

Having had the page inactive for a number of years, Alan's 40th Birthday has triggered us to open it up again as we look to use this event to raise more funds in Paula's memory.

Life milestones like this are a particularly poignant time as the happiness is tinged with regret at the fact that we never got to celebrate them for and with Paula.

In the past we have focussed our fundraising on Alan's sporting challenges with running the London Marathon, raising £925, completing the UK Ironman, raising over £1,000, and Charlotte rallying the troops with great support and fundraising. In addition to this friends and family have helped out including Ann Wells (Charlotte's Mum) by raising money with the pupils in her school and Dad (Jerry Walsh) collecting around at his 60th Birthday. We have also baked 'chocolate Brownlees' to sell to mark the Leeds triathlon 2012 and done a Christmas Raffle.

In 2014 we got married and raised funds through our Wedding Fete and bar collection as a way of ensuring that Paula was remembered on our Special Day.

2015 has saw Alan ride the Paris Roubaix Sportive, a tooth chattering 102 miles across Northern France.

A big 'thank you' to everyone who has supported and helped us so far. We hope to raise many more £££s for this great cause in the future.
