Story

Running a marathon is a lifelong ambition of mine and, after being a spectator at last year's London marathon, I knew I had to run in this event. Sub-4 hours is the goal but if my half-marathon experiences are anything to go by I'll just be delighted to finish.

I'm running on behalf of NeuroMuscular Centre, based in Winsford. My grandad suffered from a form of muscular dystrophy for over 20 years and through the care of NMC he was able to keep mobile without resorting to a wheelchair for many more years than expected. Sadly he died in March 2007 but our family are still very grateful for the care, support and friendship he and my grandma received from everyone at NMC.

The NMC physiotherapy service provides ongoing treatment where the NHS does not, and is staffed largely by people with neuromuscular conditions themselves. Check out their website for more details: http://www.nmcentre.com

So please dig deep and donate generously. Thank you, it means a lot.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
