Loch Ness Marathon 2003 · 28 September 2003 ·

Highland Hospice provides specialist care and support to terminally ill patients and their families in the Highlands. We have an In Patient Unit in Inverness, provide day care across the region and offer bereavement counselling for relatives. We aim to provide dignity when time matters most.

Story

Please sponsor me online.

It's the most efficient way for me to raise funds for the Highland Hospice. If you are a UK taxpayer your donation will be increased by almost a third at no cost to you.

Both myself and the Hospice really appreciate your donation. Any amount will make a difference but please try to give generously!

I did it!! 5 1/2 hours - which is 30 minutes faster than anticpated - and I felt great.

I had never run a marathon before, indeed, at the beginning of March this year, I couldn't run a mile! Why did I do it? Three reasons:
it's a personal challenge - I'll be 60 on my next birthday!
I work for the Hospice and I see every day what can be done for patients and their families and I want to raise as much money as I possibly can to help fund the service,
and finally, I did it in memory of Ena Munro, my mother-in-law, who died last year and who was looked after so well in the Hospice.

Many thanks, Joan
