Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to say a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart to you all for making a donation towards ‘Get Kids Going!’ I really appreciate everyone’s help and support and I am truly touched by your kindness.

I can honestly say it was the most painful experience of my life!

I completed the marathon in 4 hours 56 minutes. My ego was secretly hoping to do it 4 hours 30 minutes! The last 10 miles was so excruciatingly painful as every time I put my right foot down to the tarmac it felt like someone was stabbing a knife into my knee joint. It didn’t help that I was melting in the heat!

Unfortunately there was no jubilation when I crossed the line as I entered the war zone of injured competitors in equal agony. Also, being overtaken by a 70 year old Princess Lea in the last mile crushed my enthusiasm!!

All in all it was a truly magnificent event filled with great joy and some heartfelt stories of reasons why some people were running and although I am hobbling around today I plan to do it again for charity next year!
