Back by popular demand is the annual Philemon UK March For Hope, taking place on Saturday 24th September 2011.  The Philemon UK team and supporters will be marching seven miles in full prison garb from HMP Wormwood Scrubs to HMP Wandsworth to raise awareness of, and funds for, the work of Philemon.

The BBC has described the Kenyan prisons as "among the worst in the world".  A Government minister in Kenya recently confirmed that over 90% of prisoners held in Kenya should not be there. Prisoners are caught in the system because of corrupt police or malicious accusations, delays in prosecution or failures of the court process, and can spend years before treaching court, even if they are innocent.

Philemon is a well respected Kenyan charity, working closely with senior government officals in Kenya to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of prisoners. Philemon operates right across Kenya, bringing soap and toilet paper, biscuits and bread, books and literature into prisons.

You are very welcome to join us as we march on Saturday 24th September from 11am at HMP Wormwood Scrubs.

If you can't make the date or don't fancy marching seven miles of London in prison outfits please sponsor us and help to keep Philemon's work going.
