On September 13th 2009, I will be attempting the Paras' 10 - P Company Challenge with my friend and colleague, Tony Cole. We will be running for a charity that is very close to us both.... Help for Heroes. We are currently serving in the British Army. 

Our aim is to raise as much money as possible between now and September, if we can hit the £500 target, that would be fantastic. Please donate generously.

The P Company Challenge:

The Parachute Regiment challenges you to attempt the 10 Mile 'P' Company Cross Country Route, carrying a bergen (rucksack) weighing 35lb (excluding food water) and wearing military style boots. Competitors rucksacks will be weighed before and after the race, by race officials. The P Company Challenge is open to individuals and teams of 4. As a guide the Paratroopers Company Selection cut off time is 1 hr 50 minutes.

The Route:

A multi-terrain endurance event, the race will follow the same route as the 10 mile run. There will be water stations located at the 4 and 8 mile points. The First Aid Station will be located at Race Control with a roving back up facility.

 

The Runners:

 

Marc Holden:

Currently serving in The Royal Corps of Signals, Marc has over 5 1/2 years experience and is the rank of Lance Corporal. Marc has been on operational tour in both Northern Ireland and Iraq.

Tony Cole:

Tony has just recently joined The Royal Corps of Signals after serving with The Parachute Regiment for over 3 years. Tony has been on operational tour in Afghanistan.
