We came 3rd! We were pretty chuffed to be the 3rd team over the line after 5 hours and 1 minute. The team that came 1st were 10 minutes ahead of us - and on the cycle we missed a turn and did an extra 3-4 miles which definitely leaves us thinking 'what might have been....' Ben has to take the biggest credit however, having gone flying over his handlebars only 3 weeks ago leaving him with a pretty sore back and shoulder. He's clearly made of tough stuff. Thank you all for your kind donations - the money raised exceeded both our expectations and we've both had a phone call from the CEO of the Muscular Help Foundation thanking us for our efforts and your donations for Freddie. Needless to say we'll win it next year! Thanks again, Marcus and Ben Original note: On Saturday 5th July (yes, this Saturday), we have been silly enough to enter the Norfolk Superhero Challenge, a quadrathlon done in teams of two involving a 1 mile swim in The North Sea, a 4 mile kayak, a 39 mile cycle (forecast is for 24mph wind so this might feel a tad longer) and an 8 mile run - the last mile of which is across a marsh with 5' ditches. Nice jolly for a Saturday. After Ben's front wheel came off in training about 2 weeks ago (I'm out on bail), our team name of 'Norfolk & Chance' (say it with a Geordie accent) has never been more appropriate - but the fact that Ben 'Lazarus' Cooper is even making the team line up is pretty impressive. We are hoping to raise some cash for The Muscular Help Foundation - but we wanted to raise funds for a specific youngster so that we could actually quantify what the monies raised have gone towards. Freddie Reading is 15 years old and has the most severe form of muscular dystrophy. Freddie (like other kids with this condition) will die in his late teens - early twenties. About 100 kids are born in the UK with this (about 1 in 3,500) each year and at the moment no cure or treatment exists. Freddie's "Muscle Dream", as the charity calls them, is to meet The Stig and see if - even at his tender age - he can grow some grey hair as a result of hurtling around the Top Gear track before meeting the presenters and being a part of the studio audience. Pleasingly this has been lined up for the fella - but we want to cover the cost which is around £1,000 for transport, photography, accommodation and a celebratory dinner afterwards with the charity and Freddie's mum and dad. Please - even if it's just a fiver - do what you can to help Freddie fulfil his 'Muscle Dream'. Thanks, Marcus and Ben
