The Fresh 'n' Lo Great Scottish Half Marathon 2009 · 6 September 2009 ·

Alzheimer Scotland is the leading, national dementia charity in Scotland. Our mission is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide advice, information and support and we are here for people living with dementia, their families and carers across Scotland.

Story

My name is Chief Petty Officer Marcus Bohlin .   My chosen charity is Alzheimer Scotland.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

I ran the Glasgow Half Marathon on 6th September 2009 and I managed to complete the course in a time of 1 hour 47 minutes and 34 seconds. I was also placed 2191st out of over 7500 other runners, so I am pretty pleased with that..............even if I do say so myself!

My dear old Grandad David Isherwood suffers from Alzheimers disease, and I want to raise money for this charity so that people, like my Grandad, can continue to get the help and support they deserve to make the rest of their lives as happy and as dignified as possible with the little time they have left

Alzheimer Scotland provides a range of services around Scotland including specialist day care, help in the home, befriending, carer support, counselling and a confidential 24 hour Helpline. £50 can fund a whole day of respite care, and £100 can help towards a bath lift so that a loved one can be cared for at home for as long as possible.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me:

Alzheimer Scotland gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Please help me to reach my new target of £1500, we are just about there. Thanks to everyone who has donated already and for your many messages of support and kindness.
