I completed the Great North Run in 2 hrs 16 mins - slower than I wanted, but it was very hot !!
The Great South Run was done in 1 hr 25 mins which was much better - a nicer event with fewer people (only 11,000!) and a slightly shorter distance to run.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Last year, as you may know, my daughter Georgia had to undertake open heart surgery at the Oxford John Radcliffe Hospital (JR) and unfortunately, during her recovery from the operation, she had a stroke which left her paralysed on the left side. She's made a miraculous and almost total recovery, a lot of which can be attributed to the fantastic care which she received at JR.
Georgia was admitted to the main hospital because there is no children's hospital in Oxford currently. However, the Oxford Children's Hospital Campaign are building a new children's hospital near JR and need charitable funds to build it. The new hospital will be a purpose built centre of excellence for children's services bringing local paediatric care facilities together under one-roof. 50% of the project is being built ENTIRELY FROM CHARITABLE DONATIONS and so far, they have raised £7.7 million pounds. They need £15 million to complete the project in Jan 2007.
This project is particularly close to my heart, for obvious reasons, and so, I'm trying to raise money by doing both the Great North Run (18th Sept 2005 - 13 miles) and Great South Run (9th Oct 2005 - 10 miles), which for someone who hadn't run more then 4 miles before starting this training, is quite a challenge !
