My next challenge is to complete a 286 km (178 miles) cycle ride from London to Paris in only three days. This challenge will be taking place between the 27th and 29th August 2010. All donations as ever are gratefully received.

I will be cycling in aid of the Mouth Cancer Foundation in memory of my Nan. This is a small charity who do some fantastic work in leading a UK wide Mouth Cancer awareness programme - emphasising the importance of early detection and subsequent prevention.

So far I have raised £626 for this charity and hope to pass the £2,000 mark by completing this challenge.

Thank you for your support

Marcus

****UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2009****

Thank you to everyone who donated. The walk was a success and we completed it in just under two hours! Thanks to the Charity Match scheme that my employer runs (LV=) I smashed my target and raised just over £600! Thank you all once again - Marcus

********

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

Life is full of surprises both good and bad. This was something I realised when in the autumn of 2008 my Nan was  diagnosed with throat cancer.  In December 2008 after her short, yet brave fight against this terrible disease she lost her battle.

Immediatley after she passed away I said to myself that I wanted to do something worthwhile in her memory and that is when I decided to support the The Mouth Cancer Foundation in their bid to lead a UK wide Mouth Cancer Awareness programme - emphasising the importance of early detection and subsequent prevention.

The first event (yes, there will be more challenges ahead) I am taking part in is the:-

10k Mouth Cancer Awareness Walk in Hyde Park, London on the 26th September 2009.

My beautiful wife and baby daughter will also be joining me so lets hope the sun shines for us all!!

Thank you for your support - Marcus
