Welcome to your new improved fundraising page. Find out what's changed and why.

What's new?

  1. The new header makes it much easier to see all the fundraising info at a glance. Plus, the page can now be shared to more social networks to encourage more people to give.
  2. The charity information is much more prominent, highlighting the cause you’re supporting.
  3. The new gallery makes it easier to see the images and video.
  4. Dedicated sections show the teams and companies you’re part of, emphasising the fundraising community you belong to.

What's coming?

The new design will also allow us to introduce some great features very soon to help you tell your fundraising story, like page updates, themes and a new page summary. Read all about these and other upcoming changes on our blog.

My story

Come the 15th of April this year I will be running the Brighton marathon, after signing up during a mild bout of self rightiousness last summer. I've started training and am enjoying it so far (it is very early days). The goal is to run it in sub four hours. I'm keeping a blog to track my training, which will be updated once or twice a week http://marcusruns.tumblr.com/. Please read, comment, laugh, cry or do whatever else it amuses you to do.

As some of you will know, I've spent quite a bit of time caring for or representing disabled people, and see this as a fantastic opportunity to raise some money for Scope. Scope do amazing work, primarly with people with cerebral palsy, but also representing disabled people as a whole.

Please do give generously - some possible donations are:

£1.00 – Number of times Paula Radcliffe had to wee during 2005 London marathon (hopefully one more than me)

£5.94 – One penny/mile run in training (approx)

£9.16 – My target min/mile pace (I promise I won’t ask for more if I slow down)

£26.20 – One pound/mile

£42.16 – One pound/kilometre – for the metric lovers amongst you

£1,000,000 – Just in case any of you are secret lottery winners/Roman Abramovich.

Do come down to Brighton if you want to support/laugh/confirm that I've finished with your own eyes.

Marcus.
