Although I am enthusiastic about tennis, skiing and keeping fit, I am not about running. Last year I was persuaded to run the British 10K London Run, which I survived, and, to my surprise, almost enjoyed! When it was suggested that I should do the run again this year, for the Lord Mayor of London (David Lewis) Charity Appeal, I was easily persuaded because the Lord Mayor’s chosen charities, Wellbeing of Women and ORBIS are such worthwhile causes. As a Trustee of Wellbeing of Women and supporter of ORBIS, I have been pleased to support as many of the fundraising events as possible. As I shall be drawing my pension this year, it is almost certainly the last running event I shall be doing, and so I am asking friends, relatives, colleagues and patients to support these two very different charities, which contribute so much to the relief of suffering and improving health. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Wellbeing of Women and ORBIS – Lord Mayor’s Appeal 2008 gets your money faster, and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. Or write a cheque, made out to The Lord Mayor’s Appeal 2008, and send to me at 5 Devonshire Place, London W1G 6HL. So please sponsor me now!
