My story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in August 2007. Following the devastating news I found an inner strength that I wasn't aware of; a strength that enabled me to cope with the emotional and physical pressures of the disease and the subsequent treatment. Today my life is very different; there is much that is positive and my priorities have changed. Cancer is about enjoying and appreciating your friends and family, it's about life and making the most of what time you have and it's about taking on a challenge and succeeding!

My Coast to Coast Challenge  takes me through 3 National Parks: The Lake District, The Yorkshire Dales and the Yorkshire Moors, from St Bees on the Irish Sea to Robin Hood's Bay on the Yorkshire Coast, a total of 190 miles. I am walking west to East, walking into my home county!

I completed the walk on the 2nd August. The end was a mixture of elation and tears! The whole experience has been fantastic. Lynne, my companion for the whole journey was a great support  and we shared  many adventures. Friends took up the challenge and a total of 40 joined me to walk an individual section of the route or meet for a meal in the evening.

My thanks go to everyone for their support.

Money raised from this walk will be spent on vital research, campaigning and education in the fight against Breast Cancer.
