Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Having survived a previous trek for Marie Curie Cancer Care last year, I had been considering doing another one, perhaps sometime next year, but circumstances have compelled me to get off my butt and do one sooner.
My dear friend Jenni had pancreatic cancer and until last Monday (16th June) was receiving care in the Marie Curie Centre in Belfast. Sadly Jenni passed away on Monday evening. Little could anyone have imagined that, less than a year after supporting me in my previous fundraising effort Jenni herself would have needed the support of Marie Curie Cancer Care. When I received a text from Jenni on the day she went into the Marie Curie Hospice in Belfast telling me how grateful she was for my previous fundraising I signed up for the next trek immediately.
I visited Jenni a couple of times in the week before she passed away and again she thanked me for fundraising for Marie Curie Cancer Care. She said that she was getting the very best of care and nursing and could never thank them enough for what they (the nursing staff and volunteers) were doing for her. She also said that she wanted to spend whatever time she had left there.
As the trek is in taking place in September I have a relatively short time to raise the necessary funds so I am asking for your help and support with this. Please dig deep and sponsor me now!
I would like to say a big thank you to all who supported my Table Quiz and Raffle at the Pavilion Complex on Friday evening. It was an amazing turnout and I managed to raise a total of £999.34. A couple of extra pounds were given to me over the weekend which has brought the toal to over £1000.
Thank you also to those who came along to the "wine & cheese" cruise and the fundraising party last week. I'm so grateful for everyone's support.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Marie Curie Cancer Care gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you so much.
Margaret
