WE DID IT!! Feeling very pleased with my achievement - both reaching Uhuru Peak and raising such a fantastic amount for Marie Curie - donations are, of course, still very welcome!

Hello friends and family, thank you for visiting.
In February 2011, my friend Katy and I are climbing Africa's highest freestanding mountain – Kilimanjaro (perhaps other mountains have scaffolding around them or something, I'm not sure). Anyway, Kili is a mighty 6,000m (19,000ft) high and it’s going to take us nine days to complete the Lemosho route to Uhuru Peak.
But let’s not worry about the physical and mental trauma, the altitude sickness and the -15 degrees temperature that’s going to freeze water in the tube of my CamelBak drinking thingybobby before it even reaches my mouth. No, this trip involves camping - a fact that I am mentally blocking out right now!
Instead I’ll think about the good cause I’m doing this challenge in aid of - Marie Curie Cancer Care. And that’s not just because they have a really great name, they also do amazing work providing free end-of-life care for people with terminal illnesses (mainly cancer but also others) in their own homes. As someone who loves their home more than the average person - to a degree that might not be considered normal - I can imagine it is a huge comfort for patients to receive care from a Marie Curie Community Nurse in their familiar, comfortable surroundings.
I would be hugely grateful if you would help me support Marie Curie’s work by sponsoring me to complete this challenge.
Love Marie x
The small/same sized print: You might like to know that of the £2,500 I have to raise to take part in the challenge, some will be paid by Marie Curie for part of the trip (the rest of the cost is paid by me).
