Story
Hi! Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page!
In my first year at Warwick University, I have decided to join the Warwick Unicef on Campus team to support Unicef's efforts in helping children all around the world.
This autumn, the Eastern Caribbean suffered unprecedented devastation. Hurricane Irma was a category 5 hurricane that caused extreme damage for 1.36 million people, of whom more than 339,000 were children. Irma was quickly followed by Hurricane Maria -- another category 5 hurricane. In Barbuda, 95% of buildings were destroyed or damaged. In Anguilla and St. Maarten, over 90% of buildings and schools suffered damage.
Through FAST24 (where all team members go without food for 24 hours on November 18th), I am fundraising to support Unicef's efforts in disaster relief. This includes "provision of, and access to, safe water, sanitation and hygiene supplies; prevention of the outbreak of water-borne diseases; support for the reopening of early childhood development facilities and schools; provision of psycho-social support for children" and more.
Any donations -- no matter the amount -- will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you! 💙
