My story

I have had a really stupid idea and what is worse having had it I have decided to follow through with it. What is that stupid idea.... well I have decided that; as I am running the Leeds 10k to raise money for the firm’s 2 chosen charities (The Spinal Injury Project of The UK Stem Cell Foundation and the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (Leeds Teaching Hospitals Charity Foundation)) and I am doing the Leeds Triathlon for Martin House; that I should combine my fund raising activities. It then occurred to me that I have entered a number of “events” (I won’t use the word races as that implies there will be someone taking part that I will try and beat) as part of the training. So the daft idea was to do a decathlon of these events and get you lot to sponsor me one time only to do all 10. Ten for the price of one!

So that is it

The events are:-

Ashbourne duathlon 9 April 12 k run, 40 k cycle, 4 k run( done 3 hours 33mins)

Ilkley Trail race 30 May 10 fell run

Great north swim 18 June 1500 meters Windermere

Jane Tomlinson run for all 19 June (I know consecutive days) 10 k run

Swim for all   10 July 1500 meters Pugneys Lake

Leeds Triathlon 11 September swim 1500, bike 40 k run 10 k

Great North Run 18 September half marathon

Leeds Abbey Dash 20 November 10 k

The numerate amongst you will have noticed there are two events missing from the ten. That is where you also come in. I am trying to find some local events. No longer than half marathon that I can do, (please do not suggest the Leeds half marathon as I will be away playing golf!) all  other suggestions welcome. I will let you know which ones I pick and keep you up to date with progress. In the meantime you can go to these links to pledge your cash to give me opportunity to back out. A real chance for anyone who really does not like me to pledge a fortune to watch me go through agony!
