Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge · 28 May 2016

Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

26 miles horizontal distance, a mile of climb and descent, 12 hours to finish it (regardless of weather) all across the Pennine Range in the Yorkshire Dales national park.  This is the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge!

The challenge its self includes reaching the summit of the following three mountains (1600m height in total), one after the other and the covering of the 26 mile distance between them on foot, and all within 12 hours;

The mountains included in the challenge are;

  • Whernside (736m/2,415 ft),
  • Ingleborough (723m/2,372 ft)
  • Pen-y-ghent (694m/2,277 ft)

I'll be doing this on Saturday 28th May 2016, setting off from Ribblesdale at (or around) sunrise, we'll be documenting as we go. We'll also have a dSLR and video with us, which we'll share afterwards.

The reason behind me doing this, is to raise awareness (and funds) for the MS Society, something which is something close to our family since my Dad is affected by it.  Hopefully, one day, with enough research, there'll be a cure for the 14 people who are diagnosed with it each day.
