We inspire children and young people to engage positively in their communities

Story

Hi. I suppose if you're reading this, it's because you are thinking about sponsoring me, and would like to know exactly what it is you'll be sponsoring me to do, and what the sponsorship money is for.

What you're sponsoring me to do is to run a 26.2 mile (or 42.195 km if you prefer) marathon course, measured in accordance with UK Athletics rules and regulations, around Lake Windermere every morning for ten consecutive days. That's 262 miles of running, totalling probably around 40 hours. So you'll definitely be getting your money's worth!!

The reason for doing this is to raise funds for Brathay Hall Trust. Brathay Hall Trust is a national charity that delivers personal development programmes with disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. They work in partnership with various national and regional youth agencies in helping children and young people overcome difficulties arising from their personal and social circumstances, and give them the skills to make positive choices about their behaviour and attitude. In the 62 years since the establishment of the Brathay Hall Trust by a benevolent philanthropist, it has grown considerably and now more than 8,000 people benefit directly every year from Brathay’s unique approach.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Brathay Hall Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

We work with a wide range of young people, often with fewer opportunities in life, including those managing the transition from living in care to independence, at risk of exploitation in unhealthy relationships, needing confidence to find work or training, or facing other challenges in their lives.
